Artist's Comments

Interestingly enough this piece started out by me going through a TG2 forum and reading that Vue couldn't render high altitude shots, so I set out to see if that was possible and voila, here it is :) Camera is at 18km height, which is around the cruising altitude of the Concorde and the sky is a very dark blue at this height, I tried to recreate that.

You can see the original render here

Download for fullsize =D WHICH IS A MUST! BECAUSE THE COMPRESSION AND JPG ARTIFACTS ON THE LARGE VIEW IMAGE ARE UNACCEPTABLE D:

Planet and Landscape done in Vue. Rest done in Photoshop.

Texture map size of planet: 2000x1000

AH. Daily Deviation! =D

Thank you. All I can say >.<

I see you've learned bump mapping, though that planet looks like an asteroid, its too bumpy for a planet, but maybe its a really really small one isnt it? Great stuff.
